Default Upgrading new phone Question

Sup everyone, just thought id ask for some advice. Trying to see what my options are. Well my full 2yr upgrade is due in November i believe but i really want the new BlackBerry Bold touch. My guess that this new phone is coming maybe end of June? If it does that means i will probably get a "partial" upgrade which i dont think i get much of a discount :/ So what do you guys think i should do? Just wait til November (dont really want to)? Buy it straight out with no contract= alot of $$$? Maybe find one for cheap on craiglist? Or like today a T-Mo rep told me just to add another line to our family plan? but what would i do with my old #? just not use it, still going to get charged for it. Hmmm i honestly dont know whats the best thing to do haha, but all i know is i want my new phone

According to a few sources (not T-Mobile), the Bold Touch should launch late June or early July. I'm in the same boat as you because I really want that phone haha. I'm honestly not going to buy it right away; I'm going to wait a month or so for them to identify the bugs and then I'll probably pick one up, but that's just me personally.

I'll be eligible for a full upgrade at that time, so I'm assuming it'll be between $179 and $199 with a 2 year agreement. The dollar value difference between a full upgrade and a partial upgrade is probably going to be $75-100, so you will probably get the phone for around $250-300 if you decide to upgrade early.

I know you said someone recommended adding another line on to your account but trust me, that's really not the way to go. You're required to have data on whatever line you use to upgrade your phone. If you decide to add another line, then you'll only have data on that line, not your personal phone number. And I doubt you want to lose your current number so I would just keep everything like it is now haha.

Basically, it depends on how bad you want this phone and how much you're willing to pay for it. If you don't want to wait and don't mind paying a little bit more, upgrade early. If you'd rather get a better discount, wait until November. Hope this helps you.

That is some good advice, thank you dshbrdmaroon. yeah honestly i wasnt going to get another line that would mean more $ outta my pocket. I will probably settle for the partial upgrade and pay that $250-300 well see. Or maybe just wait it out and ill find one on craiglist which might be better since i dont have to use my 2yr upgrade haha.

You might as well just wait a month or two, then get one on ebay or craigslist. By that time all the bugs should be fixed with software updates, there will be enough cases, screen protectors, etc., for you to chose from, and you'll get a good deal on it.

If your contract is up in November and you want to get a new phone and a new 2 year contract you can do it in August. T-Mobile lets you upgrade at 22 months, at least they use to

bigtime2: i will definitely be getting a new battery door cover because i dont like that carbon fiber look. hoping to get a faux-leather just like the 9700-9780

edS817: yeah i was thinking the same too, because i got my BlackBerry Bold 9700 full 2yr upgrade a few months early. Maybe because ive been a customer for so long and they appreciate it so they let me. Or maybe they didnt want to say "no" so that i wouldnt leave the company lol. But anyways I looked at the T-mobile website (how do i qualify for an upgrade?) and i think you are right about the 22 months upgade... I think what you are talking about is under same as new. So this apply to me in my situation? Here is the link: How do I qualify for an upgrade?

So yeah i check my receipt and i bought the 9700 on 11-21-09 so i counted 22 months ahead, and it lands me on 9-21-11 great so good news i can fully upgrade 2 months earlier that November.
