Default Upgrading To 4.5

Hey,

im trying to upgrade to 4.5. I have a At&t BB curve 8310 unlocked on T-mobile, so if i go to blackberry and download it.. do i click T-Mobile or At&t to get the update?

I see T-mobile has one that looks like its OTA as At&t's is not...

Any idea?

Default upgrade

You need to do the upgrade from your PC I believe using your Desk Manager. I do not think that you can do it OTA, Someone please correct me if I am wrong about that. I did an upgrade to 4.5 on my 8120 and I have tmob, but it was all done from my PC. There was a sticky on the pearl site that will walk you through the upgrade, it was very helpful, I do not think I would have been able to do it without. Good luck.

I just clicked upgrade on my Desktop Manager and 4.50 popped up last night.

Still can't find it listed directly on T-mobile, but it upgraded (took almost an hour altogether) and it works.

Default 8310 OS Upgrade

I just did an OS upgrade on my 8310 this weekend. Using the instructions posted on this forum under BB 101 it was flawless. Download all the files you'll need first, including the instructions, the new DM version and the OS version for your phone and carrier. Do a backup with your current DM then install the new DM and do a backup with that one as well to make sure your phone is recognized and works well with it. You may also want to backup your apps using the instructions found on this forum. The upgrade takes about an hour.

Once done I now notice I have more working memory, better email, better browser, Docs To Go and a video camera I did not have before. I also expect I'll be able to use apps I previously was not able to install due to my OS version. I do however notice a slight decrease in speed which is to be expected. As with most computers, an upgrade in software typically requires more processor speed. Good luck.
