Default Upgrade phone question

So on the tmobile site it says I qualify for a phone upgrade. I was originally undecided between the 8900 and the 8520 but now I think I will go with the 8900. Currently have 8820 due to no camera phones at work and plan on just switching out the sim card when I need to. So...

The website says the upgrade price is $149 with a new 2year agreement. Is this the best price or can I do better by going elsewhere?

You can only do an upgrade through T-Mobile. Indirect Dealers can't do upgrades from what I know. So 149.99 is the cheapest you'll get that device through T-Mobile, online, on the phone, and at the store.

Check Walmart, you can do contract extensions there. 8220 Flip was $0 with a 2-year, 8320 Curve was $25 with a 2-year and there's a new one that came out last week (don't know the model, it has an optical track ball) that is under $50 with a 2-year.

NO always call them and tell them you want to switch to a new carrier unless they give you the phone for free

Just upgraded online actually. Checked Walmart and their prices were the same as Tmobile website $149 for the 8900. So I went to Wirefly and the 8900 with a 2 year extension through them was $79. Plus I got my fiancee's phone upgraded to the 8520 for free as well. So two new BB's for a total of $83 after tax. I'm happy. Although I don't know if she qualifies for an upgrade though. I told the lady that I knew I did but wasn't sure about the other line and she said the worst thing that can happen is that Tmobile might deny the second phone so we will see.

Generally if you call em, they will give you a better deal. You can't always use the "im gonna cancel" threat though because some won't care lol
