Default Upgrade best through local store or T-Mobile?

Are there any cons to going into a store for an upgrade vs. Doing it thru TMobile and shipping? I've always just gone directly thru Tmobile but with this upcoming 9700 I would hate to wait for the shipping.

It's weird because I rarely ever visit a T-Mobile store. I always order through customer service (611), and every phone I've ordered I've received the following day. It's unbelievably simple and convenient. If you go into a store, especially when a hot phone like the 9700 comes out chances are you'll be waiting to talk to someone for at least an hour.

Good points.

When the 83xx series came out, I was waiting for the store to open and was the only one in the store and at 10AM when they opened.

When the 8900 came out, I wasn't in any rush so I bought it weeks after it was released.

I don't think I'm going to get a 9700 (preferring to jump to the next model after it) but if I change my mind, it would be a long time after the 9700 is released. I really love my 8900 and am not in any rush to replace it.

The last one I got was the 8900. I was still under contract and the T-Mobile website said it would be $399 to upgrade. I went into a store and they said the same thing. I called T-Moile and talked to a person. She let me have it for $179 and spread the payments over 3 month. This was last March.
