Default Unlimited with Data and no Text

Am I wrong but it seems to me with the new unlimited plans from T-Mobile you can't get a plan with unlimited data without getting unlimited text. I could care less about texting.

I agree, we have texting turned off on our account since we do not want our teenager to spend all her time using it.

We have a non-texting plan: BlackBerry Unlimited with unlimited internet and email.
This is in addition to our voice plan that has no texting.

Under the old rates, I have. 300 texts per month. For $4.99. The new plans cost more for light text users!

You should call in for, and explain why you do not want texting. There should be an option for that for people that want just that for their phones. And there very well may be a call in to CS unadvertised bundle for Data and Voice only.

You CAN get a Talk plan (no text) and then add an unlimited data bundle to it.

You pegged it. If you don't need everything, start with the minimum and add what you need. Also applies if you get two lines and only one needs data. Do the talk & text, then add data to one line.

Default yes

I have unlimited data and no text for 20 or 25 bucks a month. I do send and receive texts at times but it's so rare that without the plan, I do better just paying 20 cents for each text (inbound and outbound).

This is true, but for a lot of people, if it's not bundled and in a plan either online or a slick sales brochure, it's not going to cross their minds. Especially if they have not had a phone with more than a voice plan before.

So when they see the bundles, Voice only, Voice and Txt, Voice Txt and Data, that is all they are going to think they can get, and of course cell carriers, kinda hope that's the case.

If they show most people three options, they will think there are only three options, and will pick one of those options. The savvy shopper is going to ask questions and ask for options that are not offered.

Yeah, it kind of sucks how it's set up. Lots of people out there don't need txt so I don't think they should misled into thinking they have to may 20$ for txt they won't use.
