Default uma/wifi usage question help!

ok. currently i'm located in eastern europe.

i got my bb8900 in LA,cal, usa. and my plan with t-mo

i called and spoke with a rep @ t-mo and they said if i use the uma signal to call TO the USA i WILL acquire international usage rates.

is this true?

if it is, is there any other way that i can call home using my stateside phone number without incurring all these international fees.

please help! any thoughts or suggestions would be great!

UMA in capital letters

But remember....... somebody has to be the first to crash and burn when TMO starts cracking down . Just keep a check on your bill every couple days just in case .

Switch off the Mobile Network radio entirely, this forces your phone to use only UMA/WiFi. Your calls will be billed exactly the same as in your living room. The 9.99 option larrygump mentioned is not required, but as the name implies will give you Unlimited HotSpot Calling (the calls will not count against your Anytime minutes).

For the time being, T-Mo is not sophisticated enough to figure out the originating country of an IP address.
