Default UMA Compatible Phone Question

I realize this is Crackberry, but I was wondering if T-Mobile offers any "dumbphones" that offer UMA. I believe they used to have dumbphones with WiFi but I can't find a single one on their website. They also removed the filter for that service when looking at phones.

Does this mean they'll be discontinuing UMA? It's one of the best reasons to use T-Mobile.

Complete list of UMA phones

In general, you need it to be a T-Mobile USA branded phone. Some phones on the list above are current T-Mobile USA phones available from the website and retail stores.

The list of available UMA enabled dumb phones in T-Mobile's lineup is dwindling quickly. Most of the phones on the list are discontinued if T-Mobile carried them. Blackberry is the prime option still, and the only one that doesn't seem to be scaling back UMA devices

I don't believe they're discontinuing UMA service but they're now putting them into more smart phones. Most of the "dumb phones", you should be able to find them on ebay. I know few friends who got it off of ebay & didn't have any problem with them...

What would be great is if they could figure out how to get UMA on a Droid.

I love my blackberry but am getting more and more fed up with the bottleneck caused by the RIM server. The web browsing would be sooooo much faster on 3G if it wasn't bottlenecked by RIM. UGH!

Where can I get the software for TMo - UMA Calling for an 8220? If I buy a rogers network 8220, how do I get the UMA to work? I understand that TMobile has specific software loaded in order to use the UMA on their network. It is not simply a matter of unlocking the device. I have already tried this. I already have a TMob 8220, but want to move to the Rogers 8220 but still take advantage of UMA. Doesn't work. Advice needed!

Not Possible Rogers GNAC (General Network Access Controller) is different than that of T-Mobile's The phone's HDD was programed differently.

You need to but a Carrier Specific branded cell phone from those companies that support UMA calling.

I was under the impression that using a differently branded phone for T-Mobile UMA would be just a configuration issue. Coulda sworn I saw a post describing how to go into the engineering screens of an unlocked AT&T 8120 to configure it for T-Mobile's UMA gateways. If it's possible to configure a non-UMA carrier's phone for T-Mobile UMA, reconfiguring a Rogers 8220 should be no harder.

If you can find a source to get the code to access the e-screen it is 100% possible. but RIM pulled all of the e-screen code generator programs.... good luck accessing it.
