Default two laptops, one blackberry as a modem

On one laptop I use my blackberry as a modem to connect to the internet. How can I connect my second laptop so it can connect to the internet using my blackberry?

Are you asking about that one laptop sharing the connection with another, or do you want to make the bb do a sort of "wifi hotspot".

Can't do the wifi hot spot thing, but you can get a patch cable and share the internet via the ethernet cards.

I have crossover cable if you want it. Alls you have to do is pay shipping. I'm looking to unload a ton of 'em.

It's entirely possible, and here's a Q&D sketch of how. Be warned, your internet will be slow as molasses on the second laptop.

Again, I have several (5 or 6) crossover cables that I'm looking to give away. Just pay shipping and it's yours.

You can do the wifi hotspot thing with seperate hardware. Check out Cradlepoint. I use one w/ my Bold all the time.

Wow. $200 is steep for an instant wireless hotspot.

I paid less than that, way less. Mine was about $110. I wouldn't have paid more than that.

Thing is, you can also use it with other devices, even network cards/usb sticks. When I travel, I get a data stick from a local carrier and plug it into cradlepoint so then I get instant wifi for up to 10 devices.

So yeah I think it was worth it.

Am I the only one that was expecting a 2 Girls - 1 Cup reference at some point?

The crossover idea works well, especially with a free cable being offered. It does take more setup than the Cradlepoint option, but the cost is much less. The question becomes, how much is your time worth?

I thought about it when I saw the title of the thread. "Two laptops, one blackberry", but then I thought we were more sophisticated than scat porn.

This, as much as it seems sometimes, is not /b/.

Is your laptop Windows 7? I forgot to mention this but check out "Connectify". It's free. You can broadcast a wifi signal from your laptop using your BB internet connection. No cables needed.

I would usually agree with you.
But I have used connectify ALOT, to get ipod touches and other devices online when my laptop is the only one that can see the signal.
Connectify just works, try it out before you go all negative about it. It is FREE.
