Default Two "Dark" questions I havent seen any answers for. Help!

Let me start by saying that I am one of those people who do not have data on my berry. I was hoping "Dark" would allow me to do that at a better price. Right now I have Family 700 min @ 59.99 and 2-4.99 text plans (about 80.00 w/ fees/taxes). EM+ family 750+text+data would be $110 + tax/fees, which I think I can do but I have not yet been able to get answers to these two questions:

Some say if your +1 year they charge you $200 for EM+, and some say they don't and you can even get them to waive the $35.00 charge. Can any of our TMO reps answer this once and for all?

Say you have 14 months left on your contract. You get them to move you to EM+, sans $200 charge. But you then have to serve out the remainder of the 14 months. Fine and good. Then the Bold 9700 comes out November 11th. Because you still have contract time left are you eligible for the 22 month financing, or do you have to wait?

What is supposed to happen is they move you from a contract to EM+ which is without contract. In order to move to this plan, your supposed to pay the ETF since you won't be on contract any longer. If you pay this, you would be on EM+ and would be able to take advantage of the 20 month equipment installation plan (equipment credit limit tbd).

I was told that, and a different rep told me that they would move me without the ETF, and I would still be under contract. All I am getting is a headache.

And the T-Mobile rep who told you that was right with one minor omission.

1.) You get moved over to EM+ with no ETF. Check.

2.) You finish out the remainder of your contract. Check.

3.) You get to purchase equipment at retail and pay over 20 months. Check.

AND ...

4.) You pay a transition fee of $35.00 (what you seemingly weren't told).

I went into the T-Mobile store yesterday and spoke to the store manager. Today I have the unlimited loyalty plan for voice (49.00) and unlimited BB text and data (35.00). My monthly bill is about $85.00 plus taxes. My contract is up in 6 months.

I can go to EM+ and get my bill reduced $5.00 a month. I will remain in contract for the balance of my 6 months and I can buy the 9700 at full retain and pay for it over 20 months. I also have to pay $35.00 to transition from my current plans to the EM+ plans.

I decided to stay where I am until such time as I might consider wanting to buy a 9700 over a term finance program.

Hope that info helps.

It's true, people were moved to EM+ without ETF, just a migration fee. It's a short promo. I don't know if it's still going on but it def was happening yesterday.

To answer the remaining question:
In switching from old plans or even more to even more +
If you signed your last contract BEFORE 10/25/09, you only pay a migration fee. If you signed a new contract AFTER 10/25/09, you pay and ETF and no migration fee.

This is the important distinction. The 10/25 cutoff is the determining factor in whether or not you are charged an ETF vs a migration fee. Also, when moving a family plan to EM+, you are charged a maximum of two $35 migration fees regardless of how many lines you switch over.
