Default Tmobile service in NYC

I'm really getting tired of paying so much for my ATT voice and BB service and seriously considering switching to Tmobile when the new curve is released. I hear some people raving about TMO call quality and others always complaining.

Would love to hear to hear from some current customers in NYC as to call quality and coverage. Thanks.

Hey I am here in NYC (brooklyn) and the service for me is excellent. I can go into basementd and still have signal. Alsoi get a text message like ever 1 to 2 weeks. Saying they put a new cell site around my area which makes the phone signal even better. Hope this helped.

I can say t-mobile is pretty good inside the city and boroughs....

But Jersey - LI and Northern Westchester T-mobile really starts to drop off

Regret, in areas where there are tall buildings the service sometimes disappears especially inside big or massive buildings. On the otherhand, ATT does drop out too.

I use TM in midtown and have no complaints.

In NYC the BB ATT rates are much higher than TM

I have a new Bold and my wife has an old Razr. The Razr does not have as good reception in marginal areas as the Bold.

T-Mobile coverage is fine in NYC, Queens and on LI. I live on LI and worked until recently in Wall Street area. I also have lots of family in Queens and spend lots of time there. I never have any coverage issues and actually found coverage better than ATT when I switched over around 5 years ago. I know people always say negative things about T-Mobile coverage but I find it is usually people that have never actually been with T-Mobile.

I had no service with T-mobile at all on my entire floor, so I (had to) switch to AT&T. Nothing I could to do and nothing T-mobile could do.

Really, it depends on where you are staying. If you know you have AT&T service where you live/where you work, then try out T-mobile and see if they work in the places you reside in the most. If not, you always have AT&T.

I lived in Queens and worked in the city from 1998-2005 and had T-Mobile/voicestream from 00-05. I didn't have any problems with them as far as reception.

There is a dead zone on the Belt Parkway, near the Verrazano, and another on the Belt between Kings Plaza and Canarsie. Otherwise, I pretty much have no problems inside of NYC.

i've had tmobile for years...and never had any issues with receptions/dropped calls. even get calls/texts in the subway/basements.

i LOVE tmobile...for their amazing prices and great service. their phones are getting kinda...blah for me though. im jonesin for a new BB...gonna see how the 8900 looks, and i might end up getting that.
