Unhappy tmobile problem

I bought my curve when Suncom offered the $29-1000 mins plan then $15 for the blackberry service on July 2008, then Tmobile bought Suncom. My total plan is around $49 with my government discount and text msg. Well I'm in need of a new phone and I spoke to Tmobile today and they told me that if I changed phones I will have to switch plans to a tmobile plan, even if I paid full price for a phone. I do not want to switch, my plan is perfect for me and its CHEAP!!!! Anyone have any suggestions?!?!?!?

You can buy an unlocked BB (or buy a locked one and unlock it) and you will be fine. They want that SunCom sim card from you is why. Consider it gold. I'm a SunCom convert as well. I know a guy selling unlocked 8900's for $250. BBM me if that fits your needs and I'll put you in contact.

If you do end up having to come off the old SunCom plan, tell them you want/demand the Unlimited Loyalty Plan. I think they have discontinued i,t but will come off it to get you under contract. It will still be higher than your grandfathered in plan but not too bad. $79 unlimited Talk/Text/BBData.

Good luck, just don't roll over and take it.

The Loyalty plan is $49.99 plus $34.99 for web & text. You're thinking of the Even More Plus plan, which cannot be done with a contract.

To the OP, if you buy a T-Mobile phone at full cost, you are entitled to an unlock code for free. You do not need to switch to a T-Mobile rate plan to get it either. If you have trouble doing so, please contact me directly and I will assist you.

Thanks for the replies...I now feel much better knowing all this. Would it be impossible to add a line to my account or would they make me switch plans? I just want to get my wife on my account so I can pay them all at one, she can be on a separate plan just want her on my account.

You have to talk to the right person.

I have bought the following while staying on Original Suncom UnPlan.....

Feb 2009 bought 8900 with discount (this before new T-Mo plans)

July 2009 bought 2nd and 3rd 8900 with discounts(this before new T-Mo plans)

All were 1st BB on that respective line. Added at $15 BB Service to go with Suncom Plan.

In early December, was sold BB 9700 from T-Mo Customer service as well. This is what they did to keep me on Suncom Plan and keep $15 BB service...

1) They switched my plan to a T-Mo Plan in order to upgrade for $199.
2) After the upgrade, they switched me back to Original Suncom Plan.
3) Once I received the phone, I did have to call and get the $15 BB service added back on, as it was left off.

My g/f is eligible Feb 25th for upgrade. I called last Friday and asked if we could upgrade early, so we could get the BB 9700 for $129.

Once again, T-Mo did it for me. Her phone is due in today via UPS. They changed our plan to add the new phone and then changed it back.

I know I have been giving a huge deal here.

You can all call bs if you want, but here is my plan(same as with Suncom).

Account Charge: $88.99 (Main line and $20 family messaging)
1st line: no charge for voice, $15 BB
2nd line: $20 add a line, $15 BB ($4.79 ins)
3rd line: $20 add a line, $15 BB
4th line: $20 add a line, no BB service
5th line: $20 add a line, no BB service

5 phones, EVERYTHING UNLIMITED, 3 BB Service = $218.78

or roughly $45

Should I just haggle with them?!?!? I spoke to customer service 2 weeks ago and was told I would not be able to keep my plan even when I told her I could not afford the new tmobile plans, she was very polite but not willing to work with me.

In my 2 experiences since T-Mo started the new plans, I just refused to change my plan.

I politely acknowledged that I wanted the 3G Berry, but wasn't willing to give up the awesome plan I had.

I don't know why, but it wasn't that difficult for me.

In my opinion, T-Mo doesn't owe this right to you or myself. I would just be persistent, but polite.

I spoke to tmobile customer service, she told me tomorrow they will start the "Early Upgrade Plus" program and that will allow me to upgrade my phone for what she thinks is $129 to the 9700. She also told me to add another line to my account I would have to just add additional tmobile plan because my suncom plan is just a individual plan.
