Default TMobile my Favs on 9700

I am currently using a 9700 with .442 OS. Since I upgraded to that software, the myfavs icon showed up so I can edit my favs on my phone as opposed to online. For some reason it shows the numbers of the people in my fax ast +12223334444. I every time i delete and enter the number as 111 222 3333, it reverts back to the old way. It also does not save birthdays or full address. the address 1 line is blank. Same thing happens when i try to put a picrure I took as the icon. it revets back to a My favs icon instead.

how do i just completely remove my favs from my phone. I don't mind changing my people online if i have too?

go to " C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9700M_v5.0.0.442_P5.1.0.121\Java" on you PC

and look for
net_rim_tmo_audio_postcard.cod
net_rim_tmo_audio_postcard_libay.cod
net_rim_tmo_enabler.cod
net_rim_tmo_enabler_lib.com
net_rim_tmo_five.cod
net_rim_tmo_five_lib.cod
net_rim_tmo_mobile_backup.cod
net_rim_tmo_mobile_backup_app.cod

and delete all of those. then go to your recycle bin on you PC and delete them from there

then go to " C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader " and run the apploader.

Does that mean I will have to reload the OS again?

nope. it will not run the entire OS since you already have the matching OS on the phone.

It will
1: remove the files that you deleted.
2: reboot the phone

and you are good to go. minus those files... i rip those out off all of my OS installs, along with some other files.

Excellent! Thanks for your help.
After I delete the files and then open the apploader, I am assuming it will look as though it's upgrading the OS but in turn it will only be removing the files. Will it still do a backup/restore? If it does, when it restores, wouldnt it restore the myfavs? Will I have to redo all my alerts and whatnot?

It won't do a back up/restore it will only remove the files that you removed from the file list on your computer. That is it.... nothing more, nothing less.

I do not use the My Fave Five programming. As i have the Even More + plan, the reason i don't use MFF. i would assume you still can as it will not change a thing on your account. just the phone.
