Default TMobile Data plan question

Hi,

I want to get the Curve 8900 but my line isn't eligible for upgrade. But one of my other is. The deal to get it upgrade for free is that I have to get the data plan which is $24.99. Now I already have a data plan for my current phone, same price. If I want the BB I need to pay for data plan for that phone as well. My question is that if I just switch my SIM card from my current phone to the new Curve, can I then cancel the data plan on the other line? (Like how long will I have to wait until so? Or is it required for the entire 2 yr contract?)

Thanks for your help.

I suppose it matters what your other phone is. You can change your data plan on your other phone to the BB data plan. You don't hav eto pay for two data plans. Swap your SIM, get a BB data plan and you are good to go

Yes,

When you get the new Blackberry just make sure that you have them switch the data plan on your number to the Blackberry Data plan $24.99 and cancel it on the other number. Per T-Mobile Data Policy they have t sell it to you with the data plan in order to get the full discount. The best way to do it is to purchase the phone with the data plan and when you get home log into your My-tmobile account online and change the features there.

I already have an old Blackberry with already a data plan. So if I upgrade my other phone to BB and get the data plan, I can switch SIM cards to the new BB and then cancel the data plan on the phone that I just upgraded to?

If they require me to have data plan in the first place to get the discounted price, wouldn't that like breach the contract/agreement? I don't want to change phone numbers, and at first I was thinking of upgrading the other phone and change my number to that phone (since of its required data plan) and cancel the data plan on my current phone. But if I can just upgrade the phone with 2 yr extension and get the data plan, THEN cancel it later without any penalty, then I wont have to change my number...is that how it works????

I have been with tmobile for seven years and I have upgraded my phone several times with tmobile using whichever of my lines was eligible for upgrade and putting a SIM from a different phone from a different line and I have never had a breach of contract. One of my phone lines is a phone that is a simple phone for my son with no data plan and I have not had a problem yet. As always, do what you want at your own risk. This is my experience.

Yeah if u had ur bb data plan enabled before june 6th of this year then u can take it off and add it back on but anybody after that date will be required to have it meaning there is no way to take it off so basically if u want to do it then ur gunna have to use thqat line that ur upgrading on

Where you getting the phone from? When I got my 8220 threw Walmart the ad said I needed a Data plan to get it for free.. But when I went the lady never brought it up.. When My dad got his dash back in the day the ad said he needed a data plan, but we could just go home and cancel it.
