Needless to say they are sending me a new sim card, free of charge and all is good. I have always said that Tmo has the best CS there is. And if She is reading this, I'll be calling back about the 9700! |
I have swapped out my 8900 FIVE times since March 1,
twice because of the trackball problem: mine first
wound up as an arrow at the bottom of the screen and
then disappeared off it. The ball would move sideways
& down but not up. Then I met a woman at random in
the doctor's office and she told me her AT&T Bold had
the trackball problem but hers wouldn't scroll down.
And that was THE END. I had a VERY CONTENTIOUS
five-hour phone call with a CS supervisor from 2 am to
7 am one Sunday and, after insisting that they would
not offer me a different phone, she suddenly switched
gears & told me that the manager had been listening
the whole time & agreed to a swap for a BB with a
trackpad but all they had available was the then-brand-
new 8520. The day after the order was processed I was
in a Company store and found out that it was in the
"budget line" with an inferior camera and no flash, a
slower processor, and a more limited SDHC capacity &
not comparable. Much cheaper with or without a
contract. So I called back Immediately & told them
that I was going to refuse the shipment from UPS -- I
have the phone number in their hub & and had it shipped
back without it ever even getting on a truck -- and told
the second supervisor that I would wait until the 9700
came out. SHE denied knowIng anything about that phone,
which was comical because the salesman who had sold
me the 8900 told me that RIM has a "designated repre-
sentative" in every store and there had just been a
gigantic conference call about the 9700. After denying not
only that TM was going to carry it but even its very exist-
ence and saying that she didn't know anything about a
release date, she then told me that she couldn't tell me
anything or acknowledge anything even if she knew and
then said, "We have no information." I had a note inserted
in my account saying that I would call back when 9700
was released and they would swap it out then.
