Default Tmo reception at home???

I have the 8320 Curve and love, love, love it. We are moving in a week, only one mile away, and the reception in the new house is horrible. In one spot in the kitchen I'll have one bar-take a step and no bars. I called CS and they had very few answers. Has anyone had a similar issue? Any advice. My friend was with me, he has ATT and was having no problems. Am i going to have to start over, pay the horrendous ETF etc....

If you verify that you are moving, and the service is poor or non-existant at the new location, most carriers will waive the ETF's.

so why not try out the tmo at home service?
yeah it is $10 a month but its worth a try

or if you have a wireless router at home, just connect via wifi to that and you can call like that. its basically the same thing as the tmo service just minutes are still deducted while with the service they're not haha

This is one of the limitations of wireless communications. Lucky for you, the 8320 has wifi. I'd recommend setting up a wireless router, regardless of having hotspot at home or not. You'll get great reception then without having to change carriers.

Now's the time to make the most of your 8320! Like many others said ...use wifi! That's one main reason I've got a wifi phone...dont need to worry about network probs.

Why not buy a cell phone extender plug it in an away you go straightens out signal very quickly and low signal to noise ratio. I prefer Tmo to ATT since I have always had better coverage and can have my phone unlocked and can pull SIM and use another when out of the Country if need be,

Check out Wireless Extenders - Home for one source of cell phone extenders - there are others as well.

so i live in a house in the middle of nowhere which is why i chose tmo. i have had verizon and att and i do not get service at my house (yes, it really is in the middle of nowhere). but with the bb curve on tmo with the wifi, i always use the wifi at my house and the connection is fine. i already had wifi set up for my laptop and it was easy to connect my bb to it.

Ok guys/gals I one for you that has stumped CS. I have a new 8320 we have a Linksys router and when I'm on WIFI and talking to someone it cuts out every now and then like the person I'm talking to has call waiting and getting a call. This is very annoying. We have tried changing channels on router and just about everything they can think of. I take it off of WIFI to gprs and it works just fine. I have hardly no signal in my kitchen and drop calls all over our house. So I upgraded to the Wifi Curve from the pearl. I cannot get use the wifi here at home so now they are sending me a new sim card in hopes this will work. My sim card is over 10 years old. I might ad I've been a loyal TM customer since 1987 been through Aerial and Voicestream changes. I hope I can get this figured out.

Someone said to get a new router the new N version. Anyone tried that?

I don't think that the curve works on N routers. I could be mistaken, I haven't tried it myself. I think I read it in the cb forums. Good luck figuring it out, you have me stumped!
