Tmo Prepaid - Good story
I purchased a Tmo prepaid activation kit from the corp store locally so I would have a backup service due to some area's around here not having CDMA coverage at all. I had put a total of $10(total) for 3 months. The manager who was working the counter looked at me funny and laughed when I asked for a sim for my Tour. His first reaction was, Sprint doesn't use sim cards, I opened it up and showed him and left him speechless.
We BS'd for a bit about tmo's coverage/upgrade plans. Well after I paid him for the sim, he said when I get home to check my balance. He hooked me up with another $15 on top of my $10. And just the other day I actually had to use the tmo sim to place a few calls(WAY out in BFE and only got att sometimes, drove 20 mile stretches with NO coverage from anybody, GSM or CDMA). Got home and I have $38 on my sim. Found out that there is a bonus period at the moment going on. So for $10, I have gotten alot of bonuses from them. I would have stayed with tmo for my main line but GPRS and lots of dead spots kept me from continuing to use them. I've found so much help from Sprint and Tmo it is insane to have been putting up with big blue and big red for all these years. I will say that every time I did have to call Tmo, they were so respectable on the phone and helped me with my unlocked att curve for 2 hours on getting it setup. Sprint has changed and is very helpful now also(huge turn around recently).
I did have Sprint back in 1999 and 2000 when they were the bomb(got the first wireless web phone the day it came out, service didn't work right yet but I had it).
Thanks for reading.
BTW: When they assigned me my tmo number, It was so close (xxx)-xxx-9640, to my Tour model 9630.
