Default TMO to Offer $0 Additional Lines

Starting September 8th and running through November (11th, I think) TMO will be offering a $0 add-a-line promotion for new lines added to Even More and Even More Plus plans. This does not apply to unlimited plans, only those with a finite amount of minutes. Any add-on features, such as web or insurance, will be regular price.

Plans MUST have two or more lines on a shared rate already. No confirmation if this will apply to Flexpay monthly yet. Naturally, it cannot be on Flexpay contract plans because of the two line limit. The promotional rate will last until 2012 on the lines that are added.

Thanks for the heads up Norris. Unfortunately, I'm maxed out on five lines. I have a sixth line available on a second account though but that's waiting for a kick azz Android device on TMO.

Essentially, you get the free rate until the first billing cycle in 2012. This means roughly 16 months free if activated right away

As I said in the first post, EM and EM+ only. If you want the rate, you must switch your plan

Yeah the $0 add-ons can't even to added to old plans, so even they wanted to make an exception, they couldn't.

I'm a single line but I have to say, that 99.99 fam plan...3000 minutes. If you maxed it out with 5 lines all for $0 each. I'd take that deal!

Not a very exciting promotion in my opinion.

Why is that? Normal add a line rate on contract is $10/month. They're essentially giving you ~$150 plus taxes free

I think it's a cool deal but honestly, I think it's kind of weird that once you jump on this promotion, you only get to have it for a certain amount of time and then it's gone. I think that's kind of weird. I've never heard of anything like that before.

If my Dad hops on this, he'd loose his grandfathered plan to add my mom on. Right now he has the old 600 minute plan.

600 minutes sounds like an individual plan, in which case the new line wouldn't be eligible for the promo anyway.

150 is not much considering when i got all the money out of my wallet stolen.

This may work for me as I have been holding out...thing was when they were doing the 5 dollar plans, they said I wasn't available and would have to switch my plan...said no thanks. I don't mind paying 10 bucks a month, but when you think about the whole spectrum and it essentially saves you a 150 bucks, that sounds like a deal to me...I can't remember if I am EM or EMP though, so need to check that.

Also wish it was 6 lines you can add and not 5...don't feel like getting another account...I gotz a big family, lol!

The only reason I didn't think it was very exciting was because I had heard you would need to extend your contract for 2 more years to get it. The savings are less than what you might get for a subsidized phone in that case. If I'm wrong and you don't have to sign up for 2 more years then I definitely think its a good deal.
