| | TM loyalty plan no contract WOW
i have been with TM about 8 years...
I ended my last contract, but still on the special I got back in 2005.
1500 min $49.00 with an added $4.50 I think, for the light texting I do with my daughter.
I inquired about the possibility of going to a BB curve.....
they said I needed to add $30 bb data plan if I decided to get a new 2 yr contract .....
Then to my amazement he told me I qualified for a Loyalty Plan with unlimited minutes for the same $49.00 ....
I thanked him but added, I may not get a new contract and was in fact considering buying a unlocked phone.
He said that was ok, and would still give me the Loyalty Plan with unlimited minutes for the same $49.00 ....
with out a contract effective the 26th of June. WOW!
TM has always treated me right over the years, and I pray they continue.
Now If I get a unlocked wifi phone, will I get charged if I just use the wifi feature for data, at my wireless router at home?
I do all my e-mail & internet surfing at my computers, though I would like to use the GPS feature with out data.
Thanks
Tony

Since the loyalty plan is a promo plan, no contract renewal is needed to obtain it. All you have to do is call or stop by a T-Mobile corporate location and they'll set up the plan to start on your next bill cycle.

No, you won't be charged if you use Wi-Fi for your data.
Congrats on getting the Unlimited Loyalty plan! I got that a while ago too and it's awesome! I used to go over my min all the time but now I don't anymore hehe.
You said you wanted to use GPS on the BB. GPS needs data so in order to use it, you'll need a data plan. Sorry if that's a bummer. However, there is an old grandfathered BB data plan that is 19.99 and it has unlimited data. Since you've been a loyal customer, you can call retentions and see if they can give it to you even though it's grandfathered. It may take a couple calls but you'll find someone eventually who will hook you up.

T-mobile has official pissed me off. I called and inquired about the $50 unlimited and I was told my credit score was not high enough. This is after I was told thank you for being a customer from 2003 with a very good payment history
WTF????

Tony | Oh cool! I didn't see that thread! Thanks for enlightening me. I guess you don't need data after all to use GPS with these free apps.
If you want push email without the data plan, I suggest you try out some push email apps out there...most are free. One good is "Funambol" ( https://www.forge.funambol.org/download/) with this, you'll be able to get push email on your BB when you have Wi-Fi (like when you're at home or a friend's house). Nice huh?
Best of luck!

WTF???? | I suggest you try again...
I was turned down once but then I was hooked up with this nice retentions lady who gave me the plan...and I had been with T-Mobile for less than a year when I got it.
If you meet the time/good standing criteria, there's no reason why you can't get it. Just keep calling until someone lets you have it.

I would call back in. Credit is important, but if your payment history with them is solid (that means NO late payments, even a few equals bad history) you should get some points.

Yeah I'm able to get on this as well. Unfortuantly I don't use many minutes so I passed up on it.
I get a better deal @ $65 for 1000 minutes, unlimited data and msgs with my school discount.

I just signed up for this unlimited plan as well. I previously had the myfaves plan for $40 with $10 for unlimited wifi. Switched to $49 unlimited minutes, and from what I read, wifi should still work. My thought on those that have been unable to get this plan is what was their previous plan? Was it more or less expensive then the new promo. It sounds like they are trying to get those with a low plan to upgrade for extra money.
Does anyone have experience with wifi calling without the wifi plan? This is all I'm worried about as coverage at my house (from all carriers) is poor.

The only thing the wifi plan does is allow the minutes to be free when on wifi. There's no change to the actual service, so if it worked before, it'll still work.

Yep, I get shoddy coverage in a couple of places in my house so I just use my Wi-Fi connection. UMA works like a charm and since I have unlimited min per month, UMA min are also free.
