    Default Throttle data

I've had a BB plan for about 3yrs now and was wondering if they throttle their data after 2gb like AT&T or if it is truly unlimited. I ask because if I switched to an android phone which consumes way more day, will I get throttled once I switched to an equivalent android plan?

It depends on what type of Android plan you get. If you get their regular Android plan, you'll be throttled down to EDGE if you go over the cap (2 GB, 5 GB, etc). But if you're lucky, you can get the Android Preferred data plan for $20 with a soft cap and no throttling through retentions. I have the regular 5 GB plan and I have yet to go over the cap, but I'm considering trying out my luck and getting the Android Preferred data plan simply because it's $10 cheaper. If you try it when you get an Android, let me know how it goes.

I believe the old plans, like the android preferred one, were soft capped (throttled) after 5GB. However this didn't always happen. I think the preferred plan is the best because it is only $20 and there are no overages and 5GB is very, very good at that price.

I believe I pay 25 for my bb plan but have been a Tmo customer for 9yrs. My original plan was 20 but got bumped to 25 when I got my 9700. So basically I'll have to do my switch via CS over the phone? I live a few blocks from a Tmo store but I guess usually their hands are tied.

If you have a BB Pref Plan with unlimited internet then you should continue to have the same service at the same price. The only one's that will be limited will be the five percent of big users who are always doing huge downloads.

I don't understand how Android plans got into this discussion if you have a BB on a BB plan.

He asked because he is wondering what will happen if he switches to Android device.
