Default Text messaging while roaming in Canada?

Okay so next week I am going to Canada for a few days. I'm going to turn off data when I go across the border because I don't want to get hit with insane fees.

However, I'm confused with the texting part. While I am in Canada, does it cost me anything to send a text to a US number? I know receiving texts don't cost me anything regardless of where I am. (I am on an unlimited plan.)

Some people are saying that the texts I send to the US from Canada won't cost anything (will just be pulled from my unlimited bucket) and others say I will be charged. Which is true?

I'm looking to sticking to just texting while I am there because voice calls are expensive and so is the data.

When your in Canada you will be charged .35$ for every text message you send out.

When you receive a text you will NOT be charged at all since you have the unlimited text plan.

Hope this helped you out.

Okay, thanks!

Well I guess I'll limit my outgoing texts but I don't have to worry about incoming ones. I get lots of news/Twitter alerts a day so that's good that I don't have to turn those off!
