Tethering is cool when it's FREE. I just got it working on my XP machine a few weeks ago after I reinstalled Windows. I've been thinking about getting rid of my high speed internet but I don't think I am since it'a not fast enough for me. If TetherBerry makes life simpler, then why not go for it.
As I was typing this, I downloaded Tetherberry. They offer a 7-day trial. I installed all the software on my PC and my Blackberry. It seems like it's easy to use but when I tested the speed using TetherBerry, I got 125 kbps down and 93 kbps up. Without TetherBerry, I got 147 kpbs down and 50 kbps up. This is based on just one test, I know speeds vary, and there's many factors that affect the speed. I have a pretty decent signal, like four bars or more at times. If there isn't a decent increase then I don't see why I would pay $50 for TetherBerry when I could do it for FREE. I just don't see how users are getting 1,800 kbps like TetherBerry claims on their website. If I was getting anywhere close to 1,000 kbps or higher, then I would definately get rid of my high speed internet.
