Default T-mobile warranty exchange!

I'm sure this has been answer already but I'm gonna ask anyways. I have a 9700 and have some issues with stuck keys, os issues crap like that, I'm on my 4th exchange and they offered me a motorola cliq. In comparison is that thing worth what I spent on my 9700 ? I can't imagine that cliq is anywhere near the bold 9700 than again I could be wrong! Just by the looks of the cliq I feel that was like my ex gf slapping me in the face! Should I ***** harder and get them to give me a mytouch 3g, vibrant or etc.

Manufacturer's warranty covers exchanges for the same device only. TMO offers alternate exchanges as a courtesy. Cliq vs 9700 will be dependent upon what features are important to you and who is doing the comparing. Retail on the Cliq is $400, Bold is $450. Cliq has a better camera, but no flash. Cliq has many more applications available. Choosing one or the other as a better phone is subjective, but saying the Cliq is nowhere near the 9700 isn't right, IMO.

In short, TMO doesn't owe you anything besides another 9700. They especially don't owe you a Vibrant or anything obviously higher end than what you have. Take the courtesy offer, or take another 9700. Blame RIM for their lack of quality control

I gotta think that if your on your 4th Bold that you probably should go to the cliq regardless because the Bold keeps breaking on you.

Right off the line, the Cliq is -not- worth nearly as much as your 9700, The Cliq retailed at 399.99 as NorrisCell said, however it's resale value has tanked significantly as Motorola has been dragging their feet in getting anything past Android 1.6 on the Cliq (as a reminder, the latest version of Android is 2.2, and you can expect 2.3 in Q1 2011.).

T-Mobile does swaps for other devices as a courtesy, I personally don't find the Cliq to be fair at all for your 9700, and would try to ask (nicely.) for either something along the lines of another 9700, or a 9780, however keep in mind that they will not even consider allowing you anything over 449.99, what you paid for your 9700.

Agreed. To take it even further, the Cliq isn't even on 1.6. It's still on 1.5. Only at the end of October did Motorola start pushing out approved 2.1 update packages to select Cliq customers. It's ridiculous.

As xDAKx reiterated, alternate phone exchanges are a courtesy. Ask nicely if you want to try and get something different.
