In the U.K. Vodafone have announced talks with T mobile with a view to Vodafone buying T mobile


I wonder how it will affect the U.S. as vodafone currently owns the controlling interest in Verizon

I heard that they are just buying T-Mobile UK, not the US one.

Therefore, I think it should have little to no effect on us.

If T-Mobile was ever bought out I'm sure we could keep our plans.

These rumors about Vodafone and T-Mobile come and go every other year. It wasn't that long ago that there was a huge rumor that Vodafone was going to buy T-Mobile USA around the time Cingular was buying AT&T. I think it's all hogwash. As a previous poster correctly observed, Vodafone owns a very large chunk of Verizon Wireless and it's not likely ... particularly in these post AIG times ... that government regulators would be allowing a foreign company to own both the largest and 3rd largest cell-phone carriers in the USA at the same time.

I wouldn't be banking on any of these rumors.
