Default T-mobile or Sprint

was wondering if anyone has had the chance to use a blackberry on both sprint and t-mobile network because i am torn on what network to purchase one on

background info: i have two cell phones one on sprint and one on t-mobile both services work just fine for my area no dropped call or roaming so coverage is not a problem with me, with sprint i have the unlimited data plan for 99.99 and insurance for an additional 7 with t-mobile i have unlimited for 49.99 and a grandfather unlimited data plan for 19.99. now i know the second i switch to the blackberry i will pay 39.99 for the unlimited data plan but i just want to know which device is better

secondly can anyone tell me why you can not use an unlocked verizon blackberry on sprint networks

thank you in advance

T-Mobile BBs will have UMA, while Sprint does not.

Sprint will not allow Verizon phones on its network because it keeps a database of all the ESN/MEI numbers of Sprint qualified phones. Technically, it is possible to used an unlocked Verizon phone on Sprint, but you would have to convince a CSR, who has authority, to add the Verizon MEI number to Sprint's database.

I've had both networks and they've both been great so far. Sprint has more 3G devices in regards to BB's, but most of the time, T-Mobile is cheaper and is superior in larger markets, such as NYC, Orlando, LA, etc etc. In the end I would find out which has the best service in all of the areas that you commute between, home, work, vacation spots, then sleep on it.

Sprint and TMo are, IMHO, at opposite ends of the customer service spectrum. Ive never used sprint berries, but on other smartphones, sprints data network is much faster.

But if all other things are equal, id recommend TMo based on their customer service quality.

Unlimited BlackBerry data on T-Mobile is $24.99 not $39.99. It's a no brainer choose T-Mobile. Sprint is known to have poor customer service and is losing customers and money.

I just signed with Sprint and have yet to have a problem with their customer service. They have changed ALOT in the past year on how they treat customers and have gone out of their way to help me and make sure I'm happy.

Sprint was a nightmare for me! T-Mo has been great. People warned me that the service wouldn't be as good but they were dead wrong. I have much better service with T-Mo in my area and when I have done travel. Plus Customer Service is terrific. Sprint CS was painful at best. I'd never go back to them. If I was going to change carriers I'd go with VZW...but am not considering a switch at all.

My father has Sprint and it has been a nightmare trying to get his phone fixed and bills taken care of.

And I can't just give him my old BlackBerries since like the other poster mentioned, not the same network. It's nice for me to get a Bold and unlock it and use with tmo. Not so with Sprint.

If you are getting a EVDO sprint signal it should be much faster than TMOs edge. The sprint plan should come in cheaper too. Top BB's for each carrier are the Tour and 8900 at this time, I've used both. Except for the Tour lacking Wifi (for now) they are equally capable devices. My Tour is on verizon, but because of network speed it runs faster than my 8900 did for downloads and such. However, for loading up small wap webpages the 8900 was faster. For some reason, the request for the page takes longer on the Tour than the 8900. I think it is either the fact the Tour is still running release software or VZWs RIM servers are slow. I am almost certain it will get better with updated software.
Overall I am happier with my Tour. I can stream slacker without pauses and can watch youtube videos. I could do neither with the 8900, even on wifi.

I didn't read through the thread but i would chose Tmobile over any carrier any day. Simply because of the customer service that i get with tmobile and their great pricing.

Sure Tmobile's 3g network is not as big as sprint but it will get there eventually.

Just my opinion.
