Question T-Mobile Replacement Blackberry Curve 8320 Program

My Blackberry Curve 8320 recently has been malfunctioning. I called T-Mobile and they agreed it was faulty and sent a replacement.

I just received the replacement Blackberry which seems solid, knock on wood, however there was no battery, no battery cover, and no accessories. Basically a stripped down Blackberry 8320 only.

I then had to use the battery off of the malfunctioning phone and battery cover in order for the replacement one to work.

Is this typical for a replacement with T-Mobile? Does the lack of battery and cover mean my replacement is a refurbished model?

Nope. That's how they do all of their replacements. When I replaced all 3 of my Pearls lol. They came the same way.

Accessories (battery and charger) have about a three month warranty on them, while the phone is covered for a year. They must be ordered individually when ordering the device through the system, but if it's beyond the three months, then you can't get them anyway. As for the back plate, I really don't know why they just don't include it lol.

It is T-Mobile policy. They state that in the long talk when you say you accepted the terms. Plus the paper inside the replacement box tells you to use the battery, memory card, sim card and back cover from the old one.

It is most likely a seedstock phone they sent you. (a refurb). You probably had to send in your non-working phone to them. It's called a like for like exchange and since the problem was only in your phone itself (not the accessories) you only got a new part of what was not working. Does that make sense? Now had it been your battery, you wouldn't expect a whole new phone just for a battery issue would you?

With AT&T, a 90 day exchange for a new box with everything. An exchange after 90 days just got the bare phone itself.

It's not necessarily a refurb. They WILL send you a new body if there are no refurbs lying around... but they don't send the cover or the battery. This just happened to me in May as well.

I'm having issues w/my 8320...yet again. My fourth one is being sent to me in 5-7 business days. Because my first replacement was back in April, I am not eligible for a different device.

Needless to say I'm a bit skeptical. If the fourth one acts up just once, rather than trouble shoot it myself, I'm going to ask for a different device. Does anyone have experience with this? Will they be offering only non-bb devices? What should I expect to be offered to me? I'm sick of the constant reboots during important calls- I've done everything possible to trouble shoot it.

WOW! Fourth one? I would hate to be in your position. I would have canceled my service with them or go with another phone but not a Blackberry. I hate to say it but I don't think I could ever go back to a dumbphone. LOL My cousin sold me his 8320 because he wasn't using it and it hasn't giving me any problems except the occassional freezing. *knock on wood* Now he got a new 8320 and has issues with his texting so he got TMO to replace the phone. I bet he regrets selling me that 8320. I hope this fourth one doesn't give you any issues.
