I have to tell you a good story.
I was with T-Mobile for a LONG time. I switched carriers one time, regretted it, and came back. However, my second bout with TMO left me hanging, and pretty ticked off.
I left in May, switching to AT&T mid-contract. To me, they were comparable as far as pricing and coverage in my area. Thing is, since day one, I've never had a straight bill. I've gotten the run-around more times than I could count, and even with my "student discount" (note: I've been out of college for five years, but am considered "honored alumni" so I get to take part), the bill was obscene and not right. I paid less with my Blackberry at TMO!
Giving up, I decided to come back and give TMO the benefit of the doubt to make it up to me. I waited, quite patiently, for a half hour to talk to somebody at the corporate store close to me. The man that helped me was polite, very apologetic, very helpful, and here's the best part:
He sat on the phone with whoever at Customer Care for over a half-hour trying to straighten my account out and set it up the right way. In the end, I obtained the 8900 on a one-year contract for less than the two-year contract price, and I still got a rebate! I needed to port my number (and haven't yet, waiting for the last day of my billing cycle so they don't bill me another month)and didn't have the information with me, so he offered for me to come in on Friday to speak directly to him and he will straighten it all out. We had a few laughs in the meantime, and I walked away happier with a carrier than I have been in some time.
I'm a huge stickler for customer service - when I get great service, they get great returns. When I get horrible service, I take my dimes elsewhere and don't look back. It's amazing to me how one person helped T-Mobile redeem themselves as a company while regaining a customer in the process. I'm thrilled to be back with this service, and I would truly reccommend them to anybody looking for something different!
Cheers!
