Question T-Mobile pay-as-you-go problems

I contacted T-mobile tech support this morning for several issues:

- No t-zones app.
- Can't setup email account (on web with PC) - web site crashes with 404
- Can't get to location to send service books for t-zones/web2go

In all three cases tech support replied "that won't work on your phone because it is a non-T-mobile supplied phone". I'm using an unlocked 9550/storm2. Does this mean I need to get a plan from Verizon?

I have an idea that may work, did you install your current OS on your BlackBerry from your computer? If so you can change the blackberry.alx file to add the T-Mobile services to your BlackBerry by changing the vendor id for the T-Mobile services from 100 to 105 and change the Verizon services to any number but 105 so they won't load when you reinstall the OS.

I haven't tried this but this does work for unlocking all theme files for all carriers to use on your phone.

If you can't edit the Blackberry.alx file then PM me for my email address so you can send me your Blackberry.alx file and I will edit it for you.

1. You need a BlackBerry Data Plan from TMobile.

2. Since TMobile doesn't carry that device, you have to manually load the Service Books. See this thread for instructions and downloads. http://forums.crackberry.com/f135/...m-95xx-106023/

Ok several updates. I haven't tried you suggestion ric but will research. MM, I did the link you indicated and it does install. However, as soon as I select the T-mobile/Wap icon it sends me to a web page and the icon disappears. Also, on the T-Mobile web site it clearly states you can request the web DayPlan with the pay-as-you-go plan for $1.49/day. This whole process works correcty on my 9530/storm by installing the same SIM card. I did discover that if I remove the SIM card after loading the service books the T-mobile/Wap icon remains when using Wifi. In addition, half of the time I go to the MyT-mobile web site to re-send the service books from there, the web page crashes with a 404 error. I'm still looking ......

Question

Ric,
The phones are as I purchased them. I don't have any "alx" file on my PC. Is it located on the phone itself or do I need to re-install the OS ?

The file Blackberry.alx will be on your computer usually at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files then select the OS you have installed and open that folder and the file will be in there.
