Question T-Mobile and GPS Navigation

I have a BB 8320 with T-Mobile.

For me, in "Options > Advanced Options > GPS", I'm unable to change "GPS Data Source". It says "None". But, bellow that, the "GPS Services" is set to "Location ON".

Is T-Mobile allowing GPS service now? Would I need a puck (and what is a puck & where would I find one)? What would you recomend for a audible navigation service?

Thanks.

Thanks... I've tried using it too. But, it's not even close to identifying where my location is.

I just didn't know if T-Mobile was going to open the gateway for GPS & Navigation.

But, thanks for responding.

The 8320 does not have an internal GPS; however, it does support a bluetooth one (i.e. a "puck"). I had looked in to these a while ago, but I'm sure they have put out new models since I looked. Here is a link to some: semsons.com/bluetgpsrec.html

I'd look through those and possibly google the model and read some reviews on them.

Give it time to catch-up.I usually have it go to my location before I enter in a address before I head to my destination.

the 8320 does not have internal GPS. you need an external adapater aka puck to use GPS.

The Bluetooth GPS pucks cost $30-100. They're pretty small. I bought a GlobalTop G66 six months ago, and a much smaller Qstarz Q890 keychain GPS this week. Of these two, I prefer the Q890. I bought both at BuyGpsNow.com. Right now they've got the G66 for $30, and the Q890 for $55. www.BuyGPSNow.com

For a lot more info and recommendations, check out the CrackBerry GPS & Mapping forum.
