It ends this year, and you know iphone wont stay with just them. There is too much money to be made, and i have heard a lot of time that Verizon will have the phone by next year.

Tmobile UK, Netherlands, and Germany all have the iphone. Doesn't prove anything, but Tmo is part of Deutsche Telekom AG: it seems possible to me they introduce new phones in Europe and then bring them across the pond. Just my mostly uninformed opinion.

The phones you are talking about are called GSM phones, they can/will locked to a carrier for x amount of years then their lock expires. Which opens other companies to carry them. The good thing about GSM phone is the ability to unlock themand use the on what ever plan you want. IE my 8900 / my 8100 / and my wife's Behold are all unlocked. so if i want to i can take them to any GSM cell phone provider.

Well, the only other nation-wide carrier in the USA who could sell the iToy is T-Mobile because the i-Toy is a GSM device. Only T-Mobile and AT&T use GSM in the USA.

Under Apple's present technology, they could not sell the iToy to Verizon or Sprint because those carriers use CDMA.

Eventually T-Mobile will get the iToy just as eventually AT&T will get the 8900 and probably Google's Andriod phone. Why would any manufacturer want to restrict distribution of their products forever?

T-Mobile will probably sell plenty of iToys because T-Mobile has a lot of young subscribers. The iToy won't cut into T-Mobile's BlackBerry customers because most BlackBerry subscribers are looking for a serious device, not a toy.

Yes, but unless I am misunderstanding the websites from these countries, you can buy an iphone from them on their website in the same way that you buy a listed phone on the tmo u.s. website. It appears to me that the iphone is locked in the same way a blackberry (or any other phone) is when purchased from tmo u.s.
