Default T Mobile Developer Deal Questions!!

Hey guys I got a couple questions. First, do I really have to be a developer to get the phone? Second, I am due for an upgrade on the 24th and I am on a family plan. Am I eligible for this deal? Also, what constitutes a data plan for T Mobile? Can my unlimited text messaging plan get me discounts on the phones? Thanks, and Should I buy a 8520? I am new to blackberry...

Anyone can use the discount code but I do think it may be for a new line. Unlimited text doesn't count as a data plan, but if you're getting a BB you really should have data.
As for the model; you should go in the Tmo store and check out the phones. I would tell you to get the 8900 because that's what I have and I love it but the 8520 is nice too. And Tmo will be announcing the 9700 soon, which has 3G.

That's a pretty good deal, but I bought my 8900 for $50 because I told the rep that I saw it for that much at Radio Shack (which I did but I didn't really want to deal with a dealer and just wanted to do business with the corporate dealer). He was happy to sell me the 8900 at discount, which is cheaper than what is promoted on this ad. Just a friendly heads-up
