Default T-mobile D-link wireless router

Hello everybody, I just purchased a T-mobile D-link wireless router to use on my wireless computer network , and to use for UMA with my blackberry 9700. Anybody have any experience using it? How well does it work for computers, and wi-fi enabled phones? I haven't received it yet in the mail, but was hoping to get some feedback on it... Thanks in advance...

Thumbs up

Since it seems no one has any experience with the T-mobile D-Link wireless router, I'll give my own feedback now that I've received it and installed it to my wireless home network and my blackberry 9700...

Installation was a snap, connection speed on both my laptops and blackberry are extremely fast, as a matter of fact when I browse the internet now with my laptop the pages load so fast it looks like I'm switching channels on a tv!
Voice quality is superior on wi-fi with my blackberry, and it also surfs the net quicker than my netgear router that I replaced with this T-mobile router. Anybody looking for a great router would do well with this one, even though T-mobile has discontinued selling it themselves, I listened to the T-mobile rep and found it on ebay for cheaper than T-mobile used to sell it themselves for.

No, it's G, but it's still lot's faster than the netgear G router I was using before, I don't know if the netgear router was going bad, but I did replace it because my blackberry would lose the wi-fi connection, and I was doing a few router reboots every week, but it did always stay connected to my laptop. The t-mobile rep said the problem with the netgear router was probably because it's mainly a data router only, not really a voip router, and didn't have the bandwidth to handle both duties at once, so it would drop the blackberry connection. I've had the t-mobile router for almost 3 days now and my blackberry hasn't dropped wi-fi once while connected to it.

FWIW I have had ZERO wi-fi/UMA issues with my Netgear WGR614NA for the last two years on MANY BlackBerrys that have been connected to it.

The worst brand in my experience for dropped UMA calls are the older Linksys access points and routers, even after manually tweaking settings and channels in them.

I've used it with numerous T-Mo Blackberry's and had absolutely no trouble with it. Very easy to setup. I have always used Linksys and never had problems with them for any reason so I don't see any reason you would. I did call T-Mo once for an issue and they were very good with helping me and even got Linksys on the line to pitch in. Issue had been caused by some power problem so I just needed to reset a few things but it was all good.

I haven't heard anything on the T-mobile linksys router, I was just going on the recommendation of the t-mobile rep I had on the phone at the time I was trying to figure out why my 9700 was dropping off wi-fi frequently at my house who told me he was using the t-mobile D-link router at his house and said he never has any dropped wi-fi issues. I was also told to make sure to get the t-mobile 802.11 router and not the high port router because the high port router is only for the t-mobile home phone service, not hotspot enabled mobile phones...

I have the T-Mo @home Linksys RJ11 wireless router. I have two, actually. One in case the other dies on me. Never had one single problem with it. Good range, solid signal and easy to set up and use.
