T-Mobile/Bold 9700 Intermittent Voice/Data Issues
My dilemma is quite common on the T-Mobile network with the Bold 9700 from what I know of, though I have yet to come across a solution. I have intermittent voice/data interruptions through out the day. The phone will show that I am connected to the T-Mobile 3G network and BIS, though I find out later in the day that I missed calls, a lot of calls, and possibly text messages as well.
If I am on the computer, I will receive notification of emails though they don't immediately show on the phone or sometimes not until a half hour later. The times when I know that it is not connected to the network is when I open the browser and try to go to a page or my Facebook news feed doesn't update then it means I am "not connected" to the network though the display shows that it is clearly connected.
The only "solution" (I quote it because it is not really a solution) is to soft reset the phone (turn off with the end key and turn back on). After restarting the phone will be connected to the network again....No idea whats going on and this is already the 2nd 9700 as the first one had a dead GPS chip...below are some stats that might help.
OS v5.0.0.862 PF: 5.1.0.175
T-Mobile 3G BIS data plan
I'm suspecting this is an ongoing T-Mobile issue because I have previously experienced the same issue with a different phone (HTC HD, the predecessor to the HD2) Though with that phone on the T-Mobile network I was consistently not receiving text messages and a friend on the same network at the time would not receive the messages I sent either....I'm becoming annoyed with T-Mobile though the other carriers aren't so great in my area either (Metro Chicagoland area).
If anyone has any constructive comments or suggestions they are more than welcomed, anything would help at this point, thanks in advanced.
