Default T-Mobile 7.2Mbps HSPA

I read somewhere that T-Mobile upgraded their 3G networks to 7.2Mbps HSPA. =o

I ran a speedtest on my EDGE device and here's what I got. (3 bars) Maybe this is the cause in the outage? upgrading the netz.

Here are the Speedtest results for my Blackberry:

Connection Type: Carrier
Avg. Download Speed: 500.91Kbits/s
Max. Download Speed: 500.91Kbits/s

Avg. Upload Speed: 41.5Kbits/s
Max. Upload Speed: 82.15Kbits/s

Visit Xtreme Labs website at:
Xtreme Labs Inc. — Applications

Now in the past, my speeds have never gone above 100kbits.

Well played T-mobile, well played.

On a EDGE device, you said? It shouldn't make that much of a difference. That's strange

EDGE and 3G speeds have nothing to do with each other. As for the upgraded HSPA (7.2), they still haven't fully rolled out their 3G coverage yet, how are they going to upgrade something when they haven't completed the backbone structure yet? HSPA+ won't happen until 3G is completely rolled out.

Nice app. Thanks.

On my Curve 8320 I get...

Here are the Speedtest results for my Blackberry:

Connection Type: Wifi
Avg. Download Speed: 492.89Kbits/s
Max. Download Speed: 492.89Kbits/s

Avg. Upload Speed: 104.6Kbits/s

That is at the office where I have WiFi.

Can't wait to try while I am on the road and see how much of a difference I get.

Yes I know 3G and EDGE are different but I am getting faster speeds.

Has the T-Mobile HSPA 7.2 rollout begun? Yes! Confirmed. – Android and Me

People have been getting 5+ Mb/s with phones teathered to their computers.

If people are really getting those speeds, wouldn't TMO charge for tethering? I barely get 230.4 kbps on EDGE on my notebook and it seems slooow to me. That would be nice though. That's speeds you'd get on CABLE/DSL. I could sure benefit from that since I'm tethering on my BB right now.
