Default Switching from VZ to TMO

I am currently with VZ and my contract has been up for a few months now.
I am thinking about switching carriers to T-Mobile and I had a few questions.

I live in SoCal and I was wondering how the coverage is compared to VZ.

-Any areas with spotty coverage?
-How is the coverage in the Las Vegas area? Nor Cal??
-Anyone else make the switch from VZ to TMO? Any regrets?
-How is the customer service? How does it compare to VZ?

Any other Pros and Cons??
Any other info or feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

it depends where you live who has better coverage. If you travel a lot, Verizon cant be beat. If you stay in one spot that has a carrier that has cheaper rates that has coverage in your spot, then switch, but not if you travel.

T-Mobile has great coverage in the major cities. The prices own Verizon. Also, customer service is on par with Verizon if not better.

I hear that TMO is simply awesome in SoCal. You'll love the prices too. And 3G is there.

Personally, I think it's a little silly to have Verizon if you live in the city and stay there primarily. There are so many other carriers with the same coverage there but with a better price. I hope you enjoy T-Mobile.

I live in OC and coverage is good almost everywhere I go. I've been very happy with Tmo for the past 3 years.

Thanks for the responses!
I am very close to picking up a 9700 and switching over to T-Mobile.

Are there any cities or areas that you guys have experienced spotty coverage?
Everyone can agree that the customer service is pleasant to deal with?

I live in Orange County, but i do go around to different cities quite often.
Any issues in the Irvine area? Riverside, Inland area? Las Vegas?

I can't offer information for SoCal, but general T-mobile information/results.

I would say sign up and give them a test drive. You can always cancel if it doesn't work out. One thing to keep in mind is that T-mobile doesn't allow roaming (at least they do not here where I am - it says "SOS"). In the heart of town it works beautifully, but there are stores that will show either "SOS" or "no service". Again, just something to consider while you give it a test drive.

Yeah T-Mobile may or may not allow roaming. It all depends on the agreements that are in place for that particular area.

For example, I can't roam when I'm at home in NY but when I'm in PA, I roam on AT&T EDGE service all the time without much issue. I think their network is slower than T-Mobile's though, but that's just my experience.

I appreciate all the great feedback! I think I will sign up with them with no contract and give them a testdrive.

Please keep the feedback coming!

Default T-Mo Service

For various reasons, I'm not a big T-Mo guy, but I will say this. I live in Las Vegas and have had multiple dealings with T-Mo service personnel over the past few years. I have been VERY impressed with their dedication, enthusiasm and attitude. I guess if I were considering a switch, T-Mo would be the one I go to. As for coverage, I have no idea, but friends here who have T-Mo, have not complained.
