Default switching from AT&T with my curve 8900

I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong forum.

I am currently on AT&T with my curve 8900. I'm aware that I need to have my pin released before I move to T-Mobile. I am also having my number ported to T-Mobile.

What is the best / most efficient way to go about this?

Thank you in advance

Before you port your number, go online to AT&T and drop your BIS or call AT&T and tell them to disconnect your BB data plan.

i just did this exact this last week. tmobile handles the port for you, so no PIN releasing needed. i think thats just for CDMA phones. BTW, this this over. i ported right back within 4 hrs. the 1900 mhz covereage was terrible and the phone didnt work in buildings. i went right back to at&t.
