AFAIK, service reps at stores and on the phone know about the upcoming 3G service, and one of them mentioned December in a call I made last November concerning frequent signal loss in an area that has full signal strength (the rep said it was due to 3G service tests). Still, here we are, January 2010, no 3G, while Sprint, AT&T and Claro already have it. Hooray for their customers.
I tried searching in Google for any FCC-related 3G info for Puerto Rico, but nothing came up.
I am just venting here, and will certainly be happy when I see the 3G logo on my Bold. | T-Mobile is currently rushing to get the continental 48 states covered.
As a result of some calls to customer care I made in regards to my own coverage in my area, I was told a few 3G launch areas have been pushed back, as some 3G areas have been having some really bad problems with network stability, etc etc, T-Mobile are trying to fine-tune area's with these problems, and make sure that things are stable before moving on to putting more 3G online.
If the 3G antennas are installed on cellular masts in your area, your basically waiting for the corporate offices to give the OK to the local tower operators to enable them, this also sometimes happens in "zones" so some area's are covered, others not, I assume you'll get 3G sometime, but it may not be this month.
