Default Solution to No service?

I am going away for a few days and I already know I get NO service in my friend's apartment. Is there anything I can do about this? I thought of trying to use WIFI to get service but my friend has privacy or whatever on his internet and it always asks for the password and we can never figure out what it is or what to put in...this same thing happens at my sister's apartment...I have a an 8520...may possibly get the Bold before I go but that won't make a difference...

Really Wifi is the best answer. Your friend should know the key to his own wifi router, it may be a PITA to type in but it should work. If they don't know their wifi key then what are they going to do when they get a new computer or a Tivo or something else that they need to put on their network? It might be worth setting them up with a new key just so that they know what it is.

If your friend has a wifi router which is password protected, doing a hard-reset of the router will clear out everything, including the password. Depending on the make and model of his router, he can probably google the information. Once he's done the hard-reset, he can go into the router settings and setup a new password, so that you'll be able to connect to your network via UMA.

It is a very bad idea to have no security at all on your wireless network at home. See this link for suggestions.
