slooow web when on wifi

for the past couple days my 9700 has become very slow when on wifi/uma. When I'm on wifi/uma it has been loading web pages very slow (or not at all), facebook is very slow to update, linkedin is slow to update, and it hangs when using the weather channel app. I get the three lines on bbm that its trying to send my message way more than I've ever seen before.

I was at work all day today on 3G and everything worked lightning fast.

Just came home and got on wifi/uma and its lagging again. Just tried to pull up a web page I've been browsing all day on 3G and I get "A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists contact your service provider."

Could it be my ISP? I haven't changed any settings on my blackberry or router. The only thing I have done in the past few days is pull the power on my cable modem and router since my internet connecting kept dropping, and its seem normal since.

*add* I also noticed when I'm on my bb browser, it keeps switching from the wifi logo in the top right corner to UMA with the signal strength next to it. Never noticed that before.

so I've come to the conclusion that it is MY 9700 and not my ISP or router. Used my brother's 9700 and his worked perfectly fine.

I keep noticing on the browser on the upper right corner it changes from the wifi logo to the "UMA" indicator. When the wifi logo is there the data features are very slow or not working. When it (randomly) changes to UMA the data features work fine.

most likely I'm just going to reload the OS... Maybe time to try 6.0?? although I've heard people having issues with UMA calls. Any input?
