Default Should i wait?

My contract with T-Mobile expired and now I'm just paying month to month. I already have an 8900 I bought off craigslist. My question is should I wait for another Blackberry to come out or go ahead and use my upgrade option and get a newer 8900? If I did get another 8900 I'd either sell this one or unlock it and give it to my dad who's on ATT. Its beat up on the chrome trim and my trackball is kinda sticking.

What is the advantage of getting a newer 8900? If yours is in good shape and working order it seems a little silly. I would wait for the next generation bb to hit. Then again, it could be awhile before T-Mobile gets one.

I would def wait for the new Blackberry to hit T-Mobile. Seriously, don't waste your upgrade. You'll thank yourself later.

Rumors say that by the end of this year, T-Mobile will be getting a 3G Blackberry. Or perhaps early next year at the least...it shouldn't be that far.

I suggest you do like I am doing, waiting for a new BlackBerry worth using my upgrade for.

I want more CPU and RAM more than anything, 3G and a trackpad just isn't enough to justify an upgrade IMO, *cough* 9700 *cough*.

With the new 5.0 o/s around the corner, the future Blackberry's will have to have more operating power available so the new flashy software and applications will run on them without being a burden to the phones hardware.

As far as case scratches and trackball issues, eBay is your friend!

You can get ANY piece to a 8900 OEM and from a US seller on there.

I have my eye an a FULL BLACK OEM case replacement myself, but I'm gonna wait until my current case has more battle scars on it first.

I think you just answered your own question brother.

Go for it.

Personally I think the 8900 is God's gift to cellphones but if you like the Bold, do it. I agree with Brian though, don't burn up an upgrade. If you get the Bold, you should be cool.

After seeing that full black housing on an 8900 I think she's a keeper! It is smaller but that black makes it look wicked. I will just have to get used to the keyboard size.

Co-sign this 100%! I changed my housing from sunset red to all black and it has the look and feel of a brand new device. If you choose to sell the 8900, change the housing and trackball for about 25.00 bucks and you would add value to it. Those scratches are an easy fix. Consult eBay immediately.

Couldnt agree more. I was considering getting a new BB at first. I simply changed the housing that was scratched, and the lens cracked, from red to triple black (as I like to call it) and it was a brand new device. I never had issues with it operating, it was just the wear on the outside and thats an easy fix.

I'd say wait. no one likes signing up a 2 year contract then hearing a new phone comes out and you're not eligible. see anyone who still has a 3g iphone and not a 3gs. =)
