Default Removed my UMA!!!!!!!

For some reason I peaked into my TMO account this morning. I don't do it very often but was bored today.
To my surprised I noticed TMO had removed my UMA services soc code

I immediately knew what the deal was so I called in and had them put it back on. The lady stated that I REQUESTED it be removed and had stated I had stated in a previous call that I wasn't supposed to be getting that feature and wanted it taken off

WTF!

I told her that although I had called in with a question about my account I had NEVER stated such a thing and why would I when I have 4 other lines on my family plan with the same feature!!!!!!!

I am seriously questioning the whole thing since tmo keeps trying to get me to drop my UMA and convert my plan almost every time I call in.

Weird....I have never had a rep try to get me off UMA. I don't even know how that would happen to be honest. It is a TMobile feature last I knew.

I would be highly upset if they tried to take that off me if they could. I honestly don't get it.

Love my UMA! Gonna suck if I lose it once this merger goes through. Did talk to an ATT rep the other day that seemed to know a little on it and said TMobile was going to keep the branding name under ATT and said they should support UMA still with the TMobile brand. Time tells all though....

You guys should check out tmonews.com. tmobile is removing the SOC codes because they are making UMA and wifi calls FREE. They will no longer count against your minutes.

It was finally added back on.
I will say they added it back WRONG and gave my one line the NEW soc code. I insisted they give me the OLD soc code and they did.

I do NOT want anything new. I have a feeling in the long run I'll get screwed by changing my grandfathered soc codes.

Anyone have any idea how the new soc works.
My old soc did WIFI UMA calls and not just wifi calls. UMA means i get handoff on UMA capable phones. The reps are always screwing with me trying to get me to upgrade to a new phone saying how its UMA when really it only does the UMA lite which is different.

I'm swearing tmo is being way to generous lately and i think it will all be clear in the future. Theyy are trying way to hard to jiggle the grandfathered people into new plans. This new free wifi plan would make me jump to a new plan EXCEPT.... i already got my wifi free minutes way back as a promo.

I agree. It does sort of sound like they are trying to move people off of the older plans and free wifi calling minutes is a good incentive.

Both AT&T and T-Mobile have always wanted to move people off their grandfathered plans. Either by telling them to upgrade to certain phones they have to change plans or if you want certain features or options added to a plan, your need to change to a plan that is NOT a grandfathered plan or long since discontinued promotional plan you happen to be on, which in most cases, will mean paying more money for the same or fewer features.

Weird how a free feature can't be added unless you are on plans that are active, just not "current".
