Re stocking Fee for Lost/Stolen Warranty Phone
T-Mobile sent me a replacement 9700, I am supposed to send back the defective BB but I cannot find it (I think one of my room mates friends took it). Does anyone know what T-Mobile would bill me if I fail to return the handset?

After about a month TM will invoice you in full for a non- returned instrument.

Do you have insurance? Insurance covers lost/stolen phones.
If you do, call T-Mobile and tell them you think someone took the phone, which is true. You may need to send back the replacement phone and go through insurance, but you won't be charged the 400+ dollars.
If not, consider sending back the replacement so you won't get charged 400+ dollars. Then just buy a prepaid T-Mobile phone to use in the meantime. Better than owing all that money!Last edited by Artemis68; 09-11-2010 at 11:29 PM.

TMO is going to charge you as much as they can. Consider it from their point of view. They send you a brand new (or refurbished) device because your current one is defective and then you say you can't do that.
Take the advice and send the replacement device back, explain the situation and wait for an upgrade, seems like you have a BB as you posted this from one anyway - 09-17-2010, 09:59 PM #10
Well I sent my bb curve in late, at about 33 days, and they charged me a fee...they say to return your device within seven days, but technically after 30 days they can and will charge you the fee...which was about 400 dollars...even after talking to a supervisor, they would not reverse the fee, even tho they had the phone...but a couple years back, with a different phone, after 90 days they charged me a fee, yet reversed it after talking to supervisor...i had lost the phone but then found it and returned it...
When i was charged the 400 dollars I told them I couldn't pay it, so I had to close that account.... it had been a flex pay account..never heard from them about the fee tho because they did get the phone back. I asked customer service if they would still try to collect the fee and they said they didn't know.
