Question Quick Question TMO-Amazon

Hey, T-MO stores are closed and the live chat isn't available and I wanted to ask this question.

I brought my 8900 through Amazon and doing so I think it may have said something along the lines that I have to keep my plan, can't downgrade it or change the phone for 6 months or I will be billed for the phone. However I am not exactly sure if it's what it said. I made this purchase about 1-2 months ago. So today I went back to the amazon website and do not see any mention of this anymore to verify it. Maybe that stopped doing it, I'm not sure.

I wanted to switch to the IPhone but still use the T-MO service and needed to know this. So I wouldn't be billed $XXX.

Anyone know?

Edit: Conditional $250 Discount
The purchase price listed above reflects a $250 instant discount based on your agreement to maintain service with the selected carrier. Please note that if you deactivate this device, cancel your line of service, or reduce the value of your service plan within 181 days of the activation of your service, you will be subject to a charge of up to $250, plus tax. Read more details here. Third-party resellers are prohibited from purchasing cell phones or data cards/modems on behalf of customers. **Purchase limit of five (5) devices per household.**

^ The above is what I believe I agree too. So switching to the iphone would be against the agreement?

Yeah, Amazon is a third party dealer (indirect dealer). If you conduct business with them then you are subject to T-Mobile's conditions and any that Amazon's indirect dealer partnership may enforce.

Oh, I see. What happens when you don't have insurance on the phone and something happens to it?

I'm having a heap of bad luck today. Wanted to trade my 8900 for maybe an iphone, find out it would be against my contract. A couple hrs after finding that out I drop my phone in a puddle of water. Not to mention that this was my replacement found and don't think I could get another, don't have insurance either. What do I do?

Edit: Just got off the phone with T-MO. CSR said that If I was just to switch phones, I would be able purchase a new one/switch the SIMs without going against the Amazon contract. Can anyone verify this?
