Default questions about adding a line to my account

I have a TM contract with my BB curve
I want to add a line for my husband.

So if I add a line and get him a new phone like an 8900, that means that he has a 2 year contract right?

What about my contract? does it change to a new 2 year or stay the same?
My current contract is up next summer, will that stay the same?

thanks!

When you add a line to your account, both start a new 2 year contract.

HUH??? Mine never has. All my lines started at different times(on my add a lines) and they all end different times.

Is this a new thing where if you add a line it starts EVERYONE Over?

No, that's not true.

When you add a line, you start a new contract JUST FOR THE NEW LINE. Your old line shouldn't be affected.

Your husband can opt to get a one or two year contract. A two year agreement will allow him to get the phone for 150. If he signed a one year, it would be around 200. Your line won't be affected when he signs up. Each line has its own contract date.

You can avoid the problem of any contract for either phone by using an additional phone purchased elsewhere (unlocked, or TM locked). You have a lot of choices, especially if you get an older model

He'll start his own contract and you keep yours! Which is kinda neat.

A related question: can my grandfathered plans be applied to the new line?

I'll likely be moving to AT&T in the next four weeks unless T-Mobile either comes up with a competitive international roaming plan by then or they magically continue to not charge me for international roaming (should find out soon). I don't want to close my account, given the years that I have behind it and thar the plans that I have are no longer available, so I'm interested in porting over someone else's number, and then moving my number to AT&T. I'll keep my Bold, and I'll probably get the other person a BB without T-Mobile's assistance. Seem feasible?

I guess there's only one way to find out....I think that would be awesome but ill tell u this...when I tried to port....they numbers were in my wifes name and she wasn't available....they flat out refused to port numbers that weren't in my name....suffice it to say....we have new numbers....but the new line under grandfathered terms is a good question

i think it would b/c you'd have to change your plan (i assume). i have the same issue and when i called last week they said both our contracts would be extended 2 yrs. i wouldn't be surprised if one rep tells you one thing and another tells you something else, so i could be wrong though
