Default question interpreting the data coverage map

so im excited for hspa+ being the in la county, but im not exactly sure if its in my hometown.

i checked my 3g coverage over here:

Unsupported Browser

my house is in the dark purple (very fast mobile web) area. does that mean i get hspa+ in my house? What does that mean?

thanks in advance for the clarification.

VERY FAST should indicate HSPA+ but you might want to call 611 to find out.

611 has more accurate coverage maps than what are available to the public.

Maps do not guarantee any sort of signal penetration INTO your home. The map may indicate you have full 3G, HSPA, HSPA+, etc. but there is no way to tell if you will actually get great data coverage at home or anywhere else without having an actual phone capable of handling such technology and testing out the network at your place of need. Perhaps if one of your friends has tmo, you can use his/her phone to make sure all is well.

So that dark purple does indicate hapa+, right?

I've always had great coverage in my house with edge, and my house is within the very fast data coverage area. I guess ill just have to try it out when tmo gets a phone I want.

There is nothing in those maps that indicates you will be receiving HSPA+ coverage. It simply means you have 3G coverage. Try calling CS or getting a data device capable of handling HSPA+ (i dont believe there are any at the moment, but soon will be) and try a speed test.

Unfortunately, even if you have hspa+ in your area, you wont see any difference on your BB cause currently no BB's support any features of hspa+.

I believe the only phone right now capable of hspa+ is the Samsung galaxy-S Vibrant.

Dark purple means hspa+.

The medium purple means 3G for sure. Everywhere I have been that has 3G but not hspa+ has the medium purple. The pinkish colour is GPRS/EDGE (mobile web). The dark purple HAS to be hspa+.
