| | Purchased: Bold 9700: What are my options?
Pardon the seemingly simplicity in the question, and I will keep my justification brief: I am new to the cell phone world, and much less to the phone service world. I've always been awestruck by the apparent business-like demeanor BBs held, so I took the plunge; (although that is not to say that I bought one for no reason at all, as it is an investment and it's utility will be valued in time)
Now that that is out of the way, I would like to know what my available options are with no credit card; thus, no approval rating or contract. Also, from the Best Buy rep that I consulted with for this phone, I think he mentioned Flexpay, prepaid, and Pay as you Go. Anyone mind expanding on them as well? Thank you in advance!

I'd get an Even More Plus (EM+) plan. It's like postpaid but it's month to month (no contract) and no credit check (from what I've heard).
It's 79.99 for Unlimited everything but cheaper options are available too.

It sounds like you have the phone already. If so, the EM+ Artemis mentioned would be perfect. If you don't need unlimited minutes, you can do $69.99 for 1000 or $59.99 for 500, while retaining unlimited messaging and internet. Being that you don't have a credit card, you will have to be billed monthly rather than setting up automatic payment (Unless you do it with a checking account number) and you will be charged a control charge of $4.99 on each bill.
Pay as you go and prepaid are two names for the same thing. You obviously bought a Blackberry to take advantage of its advanced features, and prepaid would render most of them useless. As a result, I wouldn't consider prepaid as an option.

there is a control charge of 4.99 on EM+ if you don't have automatic payments set up?
I had EM+ for a while and never set up automatic payments, and I don't recall ever being charged 4.99. I thought that just applied to Flexpay...

I'm thinking that the control charge only exists for Flexpay customers and not EM, EM+, or postpaid.

You are all correct. I should have clarified that I was referring to Flexpay specifically. Only Flexpay has the control charge

Thanks everyone,
I signed up for Even More+. However I asked my agent about EasyPay and he began to explain it to me, but also implicating in our conversation that it does apply to me. Similarly, when I sign in at my T-Mobile, it does say I have Even More Plus 500 Talk + Text with FlexPay (opted out of web for now). So which is it? FlexPay or EM+?
How are you guys able to bypass EasyPay altogether; any idea at all? Perhaps sheer overlooking or something of that nature; maybe the benefit of an account (checking)?
I've essentially established a financial account with T-Mobile, correct? Therefore I may deposit money into the account; and am I able, in this way, to pay in advance ( e.g. two months ahead of time)?
If I do not pay for my month's service, I am suspended for 30 days. This occurred to me in that, am I able to prolong payment (not service, mind you), if I am unable to pay for whatever reason that may arise? Or does it accumulate or maybe a limited number of times that this may happen?
Secondly, I want to ask about roaming and the like. I live in Canada, so I am at a slight disadvantage. I'm an American living in Canada, and will shortly be leaving (student in American college). But for my time staying here, is there any way to combat any unwanted roaming charges? Maybe something along the lines of an additional payment for a feature (what about depositing money, as I mentioned above)?
Just to clarify, whenever I am entitled my unlimited weekends and/or nights, that doesn't fall under my potential roaming usage in Canada, does it?
Lastly, my agent said that MyFaves was removed. Merely out of curiosity, why did they remove it? Wasn't this a major persuasion point in their service? Much obliged everyone.

My faves is kind of pointless if you have unlimited calls to everyone. Also they probably wanted to simplify their rate plans and My Faves would have added another layer of complexity on thiers.

In addition to my questions above, I've got two more (they just occur to me) regarding my BB Bold 9700 model (or just BBs); and one other concerning coverage. When I'm charging my phone, how do I know if it is fully charged without having to turn it on? I know the LED pulsates with an orange-red color at the bottom, and green at the top; but what does this all mean?
Whenever I'm in Canada, it says my provider is Rogers! How does that work exactly or why? Excuse the probable naivete here that I've arrived at, but is it simply an agreement between my provider; that being T-Mobile and Rogers as the agreement with roaming? Thanks again!
