I'm with you. I'd like to know how it would work. It makes shelling out the money for the 9700 a little easier if I decide to buy it.

We'll find exactly on Sunday, but my impression is you can pay for it all at once, in 4 month installments, or 20 month.

I wonder if you could pay off a subsidized phone in a few months though. I'll get a partial discount but it's still a lot...

I'm in the same boat, I'm not due for an upgrade till August. I get a "partial" discount, but it's not much of one. I can't wait to find out. It might be a early Christmas present for myself. I was just going to wait till August in hopes of a better device, but I love the bold keyboard. I won't hassle with it till I find out all the details.

Don't they have some kind of payment plan now anyways if you have good credit?

I know that's how we paid for my in laws cell phones... they just raise your bill for like 4 months or whatever if you are approved.

Yes, my husband just did his upgrade earlier this month, and they charged his phone in 4 payments to his future bills.

That's one of the many reasons why I love TMO. I got my nieces Sidekick LX '09 in four easy installments a few months ago. On top of that, they gave me the full discount for extending my contract on one of my lines. I'm not going nowhere just yet. :-)

Yeah, it still depends on your credit for contract customers, but even on a partial discount, you can use the payment plan for the 4 month option.

In order for you to get a device in 20 installments, the device has to be bought at retail price. Also, I believe you need have one of the Even More Plus plans. This is the impression I got from CS but do your own research first.
