Default Price in store and rebate?

So I'm looking at purchasing a BB curve 8900 and it says it is $149.99 with the $250 discount and $100 rebate.

Does that mean I'll have to pay $250 at the store then send in for the rebate?
How does a rebate work? And do they take a long time?

Thanks.

yes, you'll pay $250 up front and then will need to send in the mail in rebate

250 up front, they'll give you the rebate form with a copy of your receipt. You fill out the rebate form, cut out the flap on the box with the upc, imei, sku, and SIM information, then mail it out. It's estimated that you get your money back in about 6 weeks in the form of a visa debit card.
