Default PrePaid BlackBerry Sim?

Does T-Mobile offer a BlackBerry add on for it's PrePaid SIM card?
My AT&T GoPhone SIM does not allow data on my iPhone so I'm stuck using WiFi which is really inconvenient. I'd love to find a prepaid SIM that allows BlackBerry data so I could pop it into my 9700 and use that instead. As a tourist I can't buy a contract phone

I'm willing to buy a new prepaid blackberry handset if I have to, I've seen the 8530 on Virgin Mobile but I'd prefer to use my 9700. If anybody knows if T-Mobile offers anything like this I'd be really appreciative

Thanks,
Saj

No they don't. For gophone u can buy 100mb of data for $20 but its not bb data. For tmo you could go with onw of theire no contract plans and that does include bb. I've also heard of boost and simple mobile offering bb plans

If I were you, I'd check out Even More Plus plans on T-Mobile. It's not prepaid exactly but it IS no-contract. You can even bring your own phone and the SIM card will be free. The web included in the Even More Plus plans includes BB. You just need to call customer service once you get your SIM and tell them you have a BB and want to use it on that plan so they can get you set up.

What she's explaining is probably your best option. You can also stop in to any TMO corporate store and they can set it up for you. Minimum plan is 500 mins, with BB data for $55/month. It's only a $5 difference for unlimited text if you want it. If you choose to not set up automatic payment for the monthly bill, there is a $4.99/mo charge. This can be stopped at any time though.

If you have a device that supports TMO's 3G, it's pretty darn fast. However, if you're using your Vodafone BB, you'll be stuck on EDGE

Well I use an iPhone 4 in the UK on Vodafone, I'll be using a Bold 9700 in the US so it should be using TMO's 3G service right?

Depends on the 9700. There are two major versions. One is the worldwide version, which most carriers use, but does not have the correct frequency for TMO's 3G. You would need the TMO specific one, that has the correct frequency

You may notice a difference but if you're mostly messaging, EDGE is just fine. Actually, I'm on it now because I'm in a small college town and there is no 3G here. It works just fine if you are messaging and browsing on mostly mobile-only sites, although Opera Mini is very fast on EDGE.
