Has anybody here on Tmobile have experience with a warranty claim through this insurance? I've read online that if your phone is lost they make you file a police report before even qualifying for a replacement and even so it would be a refurbished unit.

What about accidental damage claims?

I had it put on 2 of our lines during the Valentine's day special weekend but I'm tempted to remove it once I get my rebates back.

I have it mainly because I have kids. Kid number 1 recently lost his 8900. No police report was required and it was replaced with a 9780. I had a choice between that and the 9700. I have had also had two false alarms where I initiated claims but did not complete them because I decided to see if the phones would turn up which they did. Again, no police reports were required.

Warranty replacements are handled by warranty during the first 12 months of your 24 month contract, insurance claims are for anything that is lost, damaged or stolen. You only need to file a police report for stolen phones. This keeps people from just saying it was stolen, because if you claim it's stolen, then you better be ready to contact the police and tell them where you were while it was being stolen, if what you really did, was sell it to someone else to make a quick buck. Or just said it was stolen on the first, but for some odd reason was used on your own account on the 1 through the 30th to make phone calls, send and receive text, on your account. Which would cause them to deny the claim. (they just look at your carriers info for the phone's IMEI number to see when it was last used on your account or any account for that matter).

I've done an accidental dmg claim when I had my Moto CliqXT. It flew off my dashboard and hit the asphalt, which cause the screen to crack. They sent me a new phone and I just had to send in my old one after I filed at ( Welcome T-Mobile Customers ). It took about 3 days but, it's wasn't free though.

Thanks for the feedback. I remember the rep. mentioning a $50 deductible which doesn't seem much for replacing a $500+ phone.
