I'll try it. I have a prepaid SIM card with SK data on it. Can't use it anymore on my iPhone since T-Mobile closed the loophole. *sigh*

Anyway, I'll pop it in my BB and see what happens. Will report back.

Nope, nothing worked, regardless of the APN I tried to use.

I've heard of people being able to use the Gmail client with BB on a generic data plan (like the 19.95 unlim web/text T-Mobile offers now for dumbphones) but the Sidekick one just doesn't work. Like I said, I used to be able to use it on my iPhone but T-Mobile has closed the loophole so now only sidekicks can use it.

Sorry!

I was talking about prepaid plans, not the flexpay ones...just regular prepaid. I've heard of the flexpay plans working okay with the iPhone, which is good. I hope T-Mobile doesn't catch that one soon...if ever.

The prepaid plan I was talking about (and used to use!) was the Sidekick prepaid which had unlimited data and unlimited texts for $1/day, min were .15/each. You buy a prepaid kit (for around 10-20 dollars) and then set it up online to use, you can change it to the Sidekick plan then.

Normally, people could use the iPhone on this plan but T-Mobile closed the loophole so all iPhone users were blocked and couldn't get data on it. Kinda sucks.

But yeah, flexplay may work still. If I am not mistaken, it's the safe 19.99/month plan, or perhaps your friend is using the more newer, expensive one at 34.99? Either way, it should work...for now.

Then he should be okay. I haven't heard of the flexpay loophole being fixed. The prepaid route I mentioned was the one that was really being abused.

Well I enjoyed using it for data. It was nice because for 1/day, I got unlimited data and texts on my iPhone...calls and whatnot still went through my BB. no more SIM swapping!

Of course I just got EDGE but it was pretty sweet.

You don't even need an IMEI Sidekick number to get this plan. It was pretty cool while it lasted.
